Royal Inscriptions of Dudu and Shu-turul of Akkad
The brief surviving votive and building inscriptions of Akkad's last two kings argue, by their very modesty next to Naram-Sin's grandiose titulary, that the empire's final decades were a story of contraction, a shrinking realm still performing the old Sargonic claims of universal kingship.
